Are your nails healthy?
Best way to understand if your nails are healthy is to have a close look at them.
Are they strong and healthy looking? Or do you see ridges, dents, or areas of unusual color or shape?
Many less than desirable nail conditions can be avoided through proper manicure care. Others might indicate an underlying condition that need attention from a medical practioner.
Your nails are composed of laminated layers of a protein called keratin. Healthy nails are smooth, without pits or grooves. They’re uniform in color and consistency and free of spots or discoloration.

How to care for your nails
Aftercare advice & tips for your gel polish & nail enhancements.
To ensure you’re enjoying the most out of your nail service the following information should be noted.
Be especially careful with your new enhancements- it generally takes a day or 2 to become accustomed to longer nails especially if it’s been awhile since you had them or it’s your first time. If you find that after this time you are catching them or bashing them on a lot of things then you may need to have the length reduced to better suit you, as too much pressure over several days can cause your nails to lift & even pop off in the middle of the night when you least expect it.
The first 24 hours after application avoid intense heat like saunas or sun beds during this time. Chlorine from swimming pools may cause your gel polish or enhancements to lift. As it is a solvent it decreases the integrity of the product.
“Your nails are jewels not tools”
We recommend that you use the pads of your fingers. Never pick at, peel, tear off, bite or file, as this can cause damage to the integrity of the product & your natural nails. Take care when opening car doors, drink cans & ranch slider doors as they are the most common ways to break or damage your nails. Do not push your hands into things use the side of hands when making the bed. Keep your nails at a workable length.
Never try to remove the product yourself unless you have been educated to do so in the correct process. Nail enhancements should always be removed by a professional. Incorrect removal can damage your nails & you risk trauma to your nail beds that can result in nail bed separation & infection, not to mention that this would be a very painful experience too.
Avoid harmful chemicals, for example cleaning products, without protection- always wear gloves when doing household chores & gardening.
Tanning products, sunscreens, perfumes, hair care products & insect repellents can also cause lifting or discoloration of your gel polish or enhancements. Wash hands thoroughly after applying or avoid them touching the nail bed & product.
Please be aware that if you are on medication this can play a huge part in the bio chemistry of how Gel polish & nail enhancements adhere & behave on the natural nail.
Gel polish & nail enhancements are a science and may not be for everyone.
We advise not to leave your nails too long between appointments, we recommend to have them checked every 12- 14 days after application to ensure no damage or lifting has occurred. Do not ignore any conditions that may develop around your nails-
if you notice any lifting- to prevent water getting in behind the lift which can cause bacterial infections
Rashes which can be a sign of allergic reaction
Or discomfort occurring please contact me as soon as possible.
